Cote d'Ivoire is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. Its capital is Yamoussoukro, in the centre of the country, while its largest city and economic centre is the port city of Abidjan. Its population was around 30.9 million in 2023.
Yamoussoukro is the political and administrative capital of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). Originally a small village, Yamoussoukro gained prominence in the mid-20th century. It is named after Queen Yamousso, a prominent local figure in the 19th century.
